Privacy Policy

This policy explains how FlagGuessr (flagguessr.app) handles your data. FlagGuessr is operated by Sebastian Racławski (hello@flagguessr.app).

1. What data we collect

Local storage (your device only)

FlagGuessr saves your game state and daily streak in your browser's localStorage. This data never leaves your device and is not transmitted to any server.

Analytics

We may use a privacy-focused analytics platform to collect anonymous page view data (pages visited, referrer, browser type, country). No cookies are used, no individuals are tracked across sites, and no personally identifiable information is collected.

Google AdSense

FlagGuessr may display ads served by Google AdSense. When active, AdSense may set cookies on your device to serve personalised or contextual advertising. You can manage ad personalisation through Google's Ad Settings.

2. How we use data

  • Local storage is used solely to save your game progress and streak between sessions.
  • Anonymous analytics data is used to understand how the game is used and to improve it.
  • Advertising data (when AdSense is active) is used to display relevant ads that help fund the project.

3. Third-party services

Google AdSense — policies.google.com/privacy

Ad serving platform (active in future). May use cookies for personalisation.

Cloudflare R2 — cloudflare.com/privacypolicy

Object storage used to host flag images.

Supabase — supabase.com/privacy

Database used to store the daily flag schedule.

4. Cookies

FlagGuessr itself does not set any cookies. Local game data is stored in localStorage, not cookies. Google AdSense may set cookies when ads are active — see Section 1 above.

5. Your rights (GDPR)

If you are located in the EU or EEA, you have the following rights under the General Data Protection Regulation:

  • Right of access — you can ask what data we hold about you.
  • Right to erasure — you can ask us to delete any data we hold.
  • Right to object — you can object to data processing at any time.

Because FlagGuessr does not collect personally identifiable information directly, most data subject rights apply to third-party processors (Google, Supabase) rather than to us. To exercise your rights or raise a concern, contact hello@flagguessr.app.

6. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, the “Last updated” date at the top of this page will be revised. Continued use of FlagGuessr after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
